- The National Assembly is the highest government organisation of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam;

- In the XII term 2011-2016, 122 seats are held by women;

- In May, 2015 Viet Nam ranked 49 out of 190 countries in terms of percentage of women in parliarment, examined by Inter-Parliarment Union;

- In People’s Councils term 2011-2016 women’s representation are 27.71% at commune level; 24.62% at district level and 25.7% at cities, provinces.
