A short film challenging stereotypes about women born in the year of the tiger wins first prize at the UNDP's #HowAbnormal campaign short film competition.

Today the world celebrates International Women’s Day, the first since the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals. Last September in New York, world leaders agreed an ambitious new global agenda to end poverty, combat inequalities, promote prosperity, and protect the environment by 2030.

This is the first training in Vung Tau under the cooperation between the Women Leadership Project between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam and the United Nations Development Programme and the Women Union of Viet Nam.

We have a once in a lifetime chance to make the world truly equal, but we cannot do it without men. Men must be champions for gender equality and work alongside women.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched an online training course to increase women’s capacity and confidence in elections in Hanoi on September 18.

“This is a pivotal moment for Viet Nam. The National Assembly has the opportunity to update the election law so that is it aligned with national laws and policies and international commitments thereby advancing Viet Nam forward in its journey.”

Hundreds of Vietnamese people including Government’s male leaders, businessmen, public figures, men and boys today showed their support to HeForShe Campaign, a solidarity movement for gender equality of UN Women.
